Leather Repair
Warranty CT

Our leather repair warranty CT customers receive applies to the repair itself and the exact spot where it was made. Its length goes on your estimate before work starts, and cover runs from the day the job is finished.

Length of cover

Set in writing up front

There is no one number for every repair. Recoloring a single worn cushion and rebuilding a torn panel do not carry the same risk, and putting an identical term on both would mislead you. So the leather repair warranty CT jobs come with is matched to the specific work and written onto the estimate.

Begins
The day your repair is finished. The date you booked does not count.
Term
Decided for each job and stated on the estimate you sign off on, before anything is started.
Scope
Only the areas that estimate lists as repaired. No other part of the piece.
Records
Your estimate or invoice. If it is lost, we hold a copy; the address and month will find it.
Covered

When our repair fails, we make it right

Cover is tied to the repair, not the furniture. On every area your estimate names, these are the failures we answer for.

Peeling or flaking, a failure our warranty covers
Peeling or flaking
Our filler, color or topcoat coming away from the repaired spot in normal use.
A shift in shade, a failure our warranty covers
A shift in shade
The repair turning a different tone until it stops matching the leather we originally matched it against.
A seam giving way, a failure our warranty covers
A seam giving way
New thread we put in working loose, or a panel we joined pulling apart at the seam we sewed.

Excluded

  • Fresh damage once the job is done, such as a new scratch, cut, burn, stain or claw mark
  • Wear on any area of the piece we did not repair
  • Damage caused by a cleaner, solvent or conditioner we did not suggest
  • Bonded or faux leather deteriorating around a repair that is holding up
  • Using the piece while the new finish is still curing
  • Sun fading, or heat damage from a nearby radiator or vent
How to claim

Send two photos and the job date

A claim under our leather repair warranty in CT usually begins with a text. You do not need to fill out a form.

  1. Shoot the repair up close

In daylight, near enough for texture to show. Lamps change how color reads, and color is usually the issue.

  2. Shoot the whole piece

Add one photo, taken square on, of the full sofa or chair so we can see the repair in context.

  3. Tell us when

A job number speeds things up. If you do not have one, the address and the rough month of the job let us track it down.

  4. Send the photos

Text them to (347) 310-7483 or email them to office@leatherrestorepro.com. We write back to set up an in-person look.

Our decision

We inspect first, then answer

On a phone screen, a finish that failed and one stripped by a household cleaner can look identical. That is why we inspect the piece in person before deciding, and you get one of three answers along with the reason for it.

Redone at no cost

When our repair is the part that failed, we carry it out again free of charge.

Matched up again

When the repair has shifted but the surrounding leather is still sound, we adjust it until the two agree.

Not our work

When the cause lies outside our repair, we explain it in writing and price the fix as a separate job. You decide whether it goes ahead.

Keeping your cover

Four ways to look after a repair

Each one helps the repair last longer and keeps your leather repair warranty CT cover valid.

Does the maker's warranty still apply? Factory cover generally ends once an outside repairer works on a piece. If yours has not run out, contact the store that sold it to you before you book any repairer, including us.

The FTC has a plain guide to how warranties on products work, and Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection takes complaints about home repair work.

  • Let the finish cure fullyThe finish has not hardened all the way when the job is done. We tell you the curing time that day, and sticking to it matters.
  • Clean it only as we showed youHousehold sprays and wipes are able to take a topcoat off. Check with us before you use any new product.
  • Keep sun and heat off itA repaired panel next to a sunny window or a heating vent will age faster than the rest of the piece.
  • Stay with one repairerIf another repairer puts their own finish over ours, our cover on that area stops.
Questions

Common warranty questions

Plain answers to what Connecticut homeowners most often ask about the leather repair warranty CT jobs carry.

What is the length of the leather repair warranty CT customers receive?

It depends on the job. Blending a scuff on an old aniline sofa and fitting a whole new panel are not the same work, so we set the term for your repair and state it on the estimate you approve. You see it before you commit to anything.

Is the whole sofa under warranty?

No. Only the areas we repaired are, as your estimate lists them. Everything else on the piece goes on aging normally, and no repair turns an old hide into a new one.

I have lost my estimate. What now?

A copy stays on our file. Call (347) 310-7483, give us the address of the job and roughly when it was done, and we will find it.

Do you cover repairs on bonded or faux leather?

The repair itself, yes. The material around it, no: bonded and faux leather break down through their full thickness, and we point that out when we give the estimate.

Could your repair void the manufacturer's warranty?

Yes, it might. Factory cover often ends once an outside repairer has worked on a piece, so if yours has not expired, check with the retailer first.

Unsure about your cover?
