Near the floor, along the edges, and where you lean

Sofas wear out under you. Beds wear out where they get knocked and where you rest against them. Nearly every upholstered bed repair CT customers ask us about begins in one of the three spots below.

Corners of the baseShins, vacuums and luggage keep striking the base corners, so they scuff and rub through before anything else.
Welts and seamsThe piping on each edge absorbs every knock, then cracks, then eventually tears open.
Front of the headboardWhere you lean back to read, hair oil, lotion and skin darken the leather and crack it.

Problems we solve

Six issues we see on beds

Most of these can be repaired without a new cover. With the final one, we will tell you when recovering is the better choice.

Upholstered bed showing worn corners

Worn corners

We rebuild scuffed or worn-through corners on the base and footboard, then recolor them to blend in.

Upholstered bed showing cracked piping

Cracked piping

Edge welts dry and split over time. We repair them or make new ones from matching leather.

Upholstered bed showing tufting cracks

Tufting cracks

Hide stretched hard around a button splits in a star shape. We fill the cracks and tie the button back.

Upholstered bed showing pet scratches

Pet scratches

Dogs and cats dig at the lower sides of the bed. We fill the marks and blend them into the grain.

Upholstered bed showing stains

Stains

Coffee, cosmetics and hair products on pale leather, either cleaned off or corrected with color.

Upholstered bed showing peeling finish

Peeling finish

Bonded or bi-cast material shedding from its backing. Beyond a certain stage, a new cover is the honest answer.

Our process

Three tiers of work

Leather bed work: clean and condition

Clean and condition

We clean and nourish rails and footboards so the hide flexes rather than cracks.

Leather bed work: rebuild edges

Rebuild edges

Filling, reshaping and recoloring corners and piping. This is the job we do most on beds.

Leather bed work: re-pad and recover

Re-pad and recover

When a headboard or base is past saving, we swap the crushed padding and fit a new cover.

Color that fits your bed

Color is blended against your own bed leather, so a fixed corner looks like the rest of the frame.

Worth knowing

We handle the upholstery, not the frame

The upholstered bed repair CT customers book with us takes in the leather or fabric and the padding beneath. Creaks, wobbly rail brackets and cracked slats are carpentry work. If your pictures show a frame issue, we will flag it so it can be fixed at the same time.

Questions

Bed Repair FAQ

Common questions before booking upholstered bed repair CT homeowners ask us.

Does the bed have to be disassembled?

In most cases, no. Corners, piping, scratches and color work do not require taking the bed apart. A new cover on a headboard or base panel can mean removing that panel first, and your estimate will tell you if so.

My bed is bonded leather and it is peeling. Now what?

Bonded and bi-cast covers peel when their thin top layer separates from the backing. We can patch small spots, but once it is flaking everywhere, a new cover in genuine leather or fabric is the honest upholstered bed repair CT homeowners should weigh.

Can you work on fabric beds as well?

Yes. Fabric headboards and bases with stains or wear can be cleaned, given new padding, or recovered in the fabric of your choice.

Will you repair the frame, slats or rails?

No. We handle the upholstery only. A carpenter should deal with loose bolts, broken slats or a split rail, and we will flag it if we notice one.

What do you need to quote it?
