The frame and foam come first

New hide over a wobbly frame or flat foam creases within months, so the inside is repaired first.

Leather-match or leather everywhere?

Close-up of a leather-match sofa with hide on the seat and vinyl on the outer side
Leather-match
Genuine leather on the seats, backs and arm tops; color-matched vinyl on the outer back and sides. Common on store sofas, and cheaper.
All-leather
Hide on every panel, so the sides don't crack years ahead of the seats.
What we suggest
Put the leather budget where hands and legs land. If the vinyl sides have already cracked, choose all-leather this round.

Should this sofa be reupholstered?

Four tests to run before you ask about sofa reupholstery CT pricing.

Sturdy frame

Raise one end. A twist or creak means the frame is repaired first.

A shape worth keeping

Same silhouette, same size.

Hard to find again

Odd sizes, built-ins and older hardwood frames earn a second cover.

No delivery struggle

Nothing new to wrestle through a tight stairwell or door.

Does reupholstering a leather sofa make sense?

When the frame is sound and you still like its shape, it usually does. With sofa reupholstery CT customers keep the old frame and get new leather and new foam, and the total often comes in below a similar new all-leather sofa.

Can the sofa come back in a different color?

It can. Every before-and-after above either changed the color or refreshed it. The leather, its grain and the exact shade are your call.

Can a fabric sofa be redone in leather?

Often, if its frame and padding suit leather. Hide has less give than cloth, so we look at how the arms and back are shaped before we say yes.

What does leather-match mean?

It is a build where real leather covers only the parts you sit on and vinyl covers the back and sides. When we reupholster, you can switch to all-leather or stay with leather-match to keep the bill down.

Is the foam replaced as well?

In most cases. Fresh leather over flattened foam turns baggy inside a few months, so each cushion gets checked and the worn ones are changed.
