The six usual cushion faults

Half live in the leather and half live under it. A leather cushion repair CT job can need both kinds of work, and each one is priced on its own.

Firmness

Choose the feel of the seat

Since the foam is new anyway, the seat can change. Stay with what you know, or move softer or firmer.

Soft
You sink into it. Good for deep sofas and lounging.
A hand testing a medium leather seat cushion
Medium
Yields a little, then supports. The usual factory feel.
A hand testing a firm leather seat cushion
Firm
Hardly gives. Easiest to stand up from, keeps its shape longest.

Causes

Why the foam goes first

A leather cover can last years longer than the foam it holds.

Favorite seat

The spot someone uses every night wears out before the rest.

Cheap foam

Low-density factory foam packs flat within a few years.

Heat & sun

A nearby radiator or a bright window dries foam out until it breaks apart.

Never flipped

Leave a cushion unturned and only one side takes the wear.

Is a sagging leather cushion worth fixing?

Yes. Most leather cushion repair CT customers ask us for comes down to three steps: open the cover, swap the worn-out foam or fill, and close it so the hide fits snug again.

Is the problem the leather or the foam?

It can be either. Seams, zippers, tears and a worn finish are on the cover. Foam that is flat, lumpy or crumbling is inside. Plenty of cushions have both.

Can I pick the firmness?

Yes. Choose soft, medium or firm, or have us match the cushions already on that sofa.

What if the cushion has no zipper?

It can still be refilled. We open a sewn-shut cushion along one seam, put in the new fill, then close it with thread that matches.

How do I get a quote?

Send a photo of the cushion, a photo of the full sofa, and a line about what is wrong, by text to (347) 310-7483 or email to office@leatherrestorepro.com.
