What sets these chairs apart

The cover is cut to the machine

On a treatment chair, the upholstery wraps a working device. Hinges, mounting posts, control panels and grab handles all come through the cover, and every pad is bolted to a bracket of its own. That means the pattern follows the equipment as well as the frame. If an opening is off, the chair stops tilting, folding or locking the way it was designed to.

One padJust the damaged headrest, arm or seat pad gets a new cover and is bolted back on.
The whole chairAll pads get the same vinyl, so the chair looks like a single piece again.
New foamCrushed support foam is swapped for foam of the original shape and density.

Vinyl does not wear like leather

Clinic vinyl gets sanitized after each patient. That routine keeps it clean, but it also dries the surface and strips it, which leads to peeling, fading and split seams. As soon as there is an opening, liquid gets into the foam, and wiping is no longer enough: the pad needs a new cover.

Materials

Built for constant disinfecting

Healthcare-grade vinyl is designed to resist fluids, take daily use and stand up to disinfectant again and again. A full color range is on offer, and most offices choose one that matches their rooms or the rest of their chairs. If a cover only needs a deep clean, go to cleaning.

From photos to a finished chair

  1. Photograph it upright

Take the full chair first, then a close shot of every worn or torn pad.

  2. Then fully reclined

A poorly fitted cover gives itself away at the fold.

  3. Get a price

You get a written number for each pad and one for the complete chair.

  4. Back on its hardware

Each pad goes back onto its own posts, brackets and openings.

Only the worn pad needs work

With five or six pads per chair, they seldom all give out at once; armrests and seats tend to fail first. We unbolt the pad from its bracket, recover it, and mount it back on the same bolts, so a single tear never sidelines the whole chair. Many medical chair reupholstery CT jobs cover just one or two pads.

The foam tends to go first

Each medical pad has a firm lower layer under a softer upper one. Years of patients crush that upper layer, the cover goes slack and creases over it, and those creases are where splits begin. A new cover over worn-out foam only delays the same failure. More on this under cushion repair.

Questions

Medical Chair FAQ

Common questions from offices planning medical chair reupholstery CT work. Lobby chairs get their own page.

Our treatment chair has one torn pad. Can you do just that one?

Yes. These chairs are built from five or six separate pads, and each one bolts to a bracket of its own. We can recover the damaged pad alone and get the vinyl as close to the rest as the material permits.

Which material goes on a medical chair?

We use healthcare-grade vinyl built to handle disinfectant cleaning again and again. You pick a grade and color from the range with our help, and we let you know if your original color has been discontinued.

Will the chair move normally once the new covers are on?

Each cover is cut to clear the hardware the old one fit around, including hinges, mounting posts, grab handles and control openings. After the pads are reinstalled, we run the chair through its full movement to check it.

Does recovering make more sense than replacing the chair?

In most cases. The costly parts are the frame and powered base, and those seldom wear out, while the pads do. When the mechanism is the problem, that belongs to the manufacturer's service department, and we tell you so.

What do you need to quote medical chair reupholstery CT practices ask for?

Photos of the chair sitting up and laid back, plus the worn pads. Text them to (347) 310-7483, send them to office@leatherrestorepro.com, or fill in the free estimate form.
