Leather Protection
CT

We put a clear, breathable coat over freshly cleaned leather, so spills, skin oil and jeans dye stay on the surface rather than sinking in. Leather protection CT households can arrange from a single photo, for new or just-restored pieces.

A check you can do yourself

Try the water drop test

Place one drop of water somewhere hidden, wait ten seconds, then blot it. How the drop behaves shows how much protection is left.

Fully guarded. Liquid stays on top and blots off.
How a water drop behaves on leather: spreads flat

The guard is thinning out. Book a renewal coat soon.
How a water drop behaves on leather: sinks in
Sinks in
The guard is gone. Liquid runs right into the hide.
What the coat stops

A coat that wears so your leather does not

With leather protection CT pieces get a thin layer that takes the wear in place of the hide. These are the three problems it blocks most.

A thin, replaceable layer takes the rubbing instead of the color.
Leather protection guards against skin oils
Skin oils
Oil from hands and hair rests on the coat, not the hide, and wipes away.
Leather protection guards against jeans dye
Jeans dye
Indigo from new denim stays on top, where it can still be lifted off.

Day-to-day care

How to keep the coat doing its job

Even a protected sofa needs some basic care.

Blot spills quickly

The coat gives you extra time. Blot it up in the first few minutes.

Use mild cleaners

Strong sprays take off the coat together with the dirt.

Check each season

Do the drop test again whenever the season turns.

Top up the seats

Seats and arms wear fastest and can need a fresh coat earlier.

What does leather protection actually do?

A clear, breathable coat over the leather that meets spills, oil and friction before the hide does. For leather protection CT clients, we always clean first, so no dirt gets locked underneath.

Will my leather look or feel different?

It should not. We match the factory sheen, whether matte or satin, and the surface stays soft and natural.

Is protection just another name for conditioning?

They are separate jobs. Conditioner adds moisture inside the leather; protection adds a shield on the surface. Most pieces get both, conditioner first.

How long will the coat hold up?

It wears down with use, and seats and arms go first. Repeat the water drop test every few months. Once drops no longer bead, the coat needs renewing.

Is it worth protecting a brand-new sofa?

Yes, pale and aniline leather especially. Guarding leather ahead of the first spill is simpler than repairing it afterward.

How can I get a quote?

Send a photo of the piece to (347) 310-7483 or office@leatherrestorepro.com, along with its color and about how old it is.

Next step

Guard it before the next spill

To price the leather protection CT owners need, we only ask for a photo of the piece and its color. Nothing gets scheduled until you approve.
