How pricing works

One price per item

Recovering means a whole new cover, so the figure follows how big the item is and which material you pick. Labor and material both sit inside every range below. When only the damaged spot needs work, check leather repair cost.

Common questions

Reupholstery pricing questions

Answers to what people ask before they pay to recover a piece.

What does reupholstery cost in Connecticut?

Usual ranges with material included: $75 to $225 for a dining chair seat, $700 to $2,800 for an armchair, $1,400 to $6,000 for a three-seat sofa and $2,200 to $9,000 for a sectional. Leather lands at the upper end of each range.

Does the price include the fabric or leather?

It does. Each range here covers labor plus the fabric, vinyl or leather itself.

Should I reupholster or replace the piece?

With a solid frame, recovering often gives better value, especially for a well-made sofa or a piece you want to keep. If it was cheaply made, replacing it may be smarter, and we will say so.

Could color restoration be enough instead?

When the hide is intact but faded or scuffed, color restoration is far cheaper, at $350 to $650 for a three-seat sofa. Recovering is for leather that is torn through, deeply cracked or peeling.

What is the smallest job you take?

Our minimum is $125, even if it is one seat.
